One of the most spectacular courses I have ever played
This course is true modern links. With elevations, run-offs and high rough. You need to play this course a couple of times to get to know it. Lost Farm (new newest one) is an easier version of the Dunes. Not as spectacular but a very nice course for the average player. Playing from the back tee on dunes you need a lot of balls because of the high rough. Not one hole is similar and even despite the lack of trees you still feel like you're walking on your own each hole. The practice facilities are pretty good as well. The 2 courses also include a very nice hotel and 2 excellent restaurants and bars, which is not very price. Just like the fee for playing, $100 (Australian dollars) for a round is nothing when this course is in the top 10 in the world outside US. The course can play pretty tough with the wind but when I played the course there was almost no wind and 20 degrees which is perfect. So prepare yourself for a big experience, charge your phone because you would like to take a lot of photos and remember 3-putting at Barnbougle is not a bad thing - stay away from the 4 putts though.
