The first competition at Rye Golf Club took place in 1894! The old course as we know it was designed by Harry Colt and officially opened in 1895.
It is located on the South East coast of England very near Camber Sands a famous long stretched sandy beach with tall sand dunes guarding the links from the English Channel.
The club has strong ties to Oxford and Cambridge Universities and has had several Prime Ministers as members.
If you should be so lucky to play a round at Rye Golf Club, then make sure to tee off on the old course.
There is a strict dress code, jacket and tie is mandatory in the bar after 11AM and all play must be in two ball format, foursomes preferred.
For men it is par 68 and for women par 72. From the men's back tee's it measures 6441 yards.
It has a good variety of long and short holes and no two holes look the same. Front nine usually plays easier than the back...but find out for yourself.

A true links course and a must to play for all links course lovers out there!
